Getting started with goStash

About Stash

goStash is gomoney’s savings platform that allows you to save towards your personal goals with flexible options and it is commission free. What you put in, is what you get out. You can lock and automate deposits to keep you on track, unlock your stash whenever you want, and fund & withdraw at your convenience. 

How to create a stash

• Ensure the amount you are planning to put in your stash is available in your main account balance.
• Go to the ‘Services’ tab (for iOS) or the ‘Marketplace’ tab (for Android), click on goStash and ‘create new stash’.
• Give your stash a name, input your savings target and insert a cool image to differentiate each stash.
• You can choose to lock your stash to block withdrawals till a chosen date (this is optional).
• Click ‘continue’ and Input the amount you will like to stash away towards your goal. 
• You can set up automated deposits with a start date, frequency, and end date
• Tap “Fund” to fund your stash and start saving towards your target.

How to fund your existing stash

• Go to the ‘Services’ tab (for iOS) or the ‘Marketplace’ tab (for Android), click on goStash
• Tap on the Stash you want to fund and tap on the fund icon
• Input the amount you want to fund
• Set recurring transfers, if you want your stash to be funded automatically and for a particular period. (this is optional)
• Tap on "Fund"  and the amount will be added to your stash. 

How to lock your stash

You can lock your stash for a period of time to avoid you withdrawing the money before a set date. There are two instances you can perform this;

1. When creating a stash for the first time;
   • after customizing your stash with a name, amount, and picture tap on the lock stash toggle. 
   • tap on set a withdrawal date and select a date
   • tap on "Fund" to fund your stash and start saving towards your target. 
2. Locking an existing stash: 
   • Go to the ‘Services’ tab (for iOS) or the ‘Marketplace’ tab (for Android), click on goStash
   • Tap on the Stash you want to lock and tap on the edit icon
   • Tap on the lock stash toggle and set a withdrawal date
   • Tap on save changes and your stash will be locked. 

NB: You can add money (fund) to a locked stash, but you can not withdraw from it until the date set for withdrawal. 

Edit your stash

Did you make a mistake while setting up your stash? Or do you want to adjust your goals? Well, it’s easy to do that.

• Go to the ‘Services’ tab (for iOS) or the ‘Marketplace’ tab (for Android), click on goStash
• Tap on the stash you would like to edit
• Tap on the edit icon
• Edit the stash name, stash goal amount or lock your stash.
• Once your edit has been completed, tap on ‘save changes’

NB: When editing, you can not unlock a previously locked stash. 

Close your stash

If you are no longer interested in meeting a certain goal, you can close the stash and the money you have saved will be moved to your gomoney account immediately. 

• Go to the ‘Services’ tab (for iOS) or the ‘Marketplace’ tab (for Android), click on goStash
• Tap on the stash you would like to close
• Tap on the edit icon and tap on "close stash".

NB: You can not close a locked stash until the set date of withdrawal.
